Ensure you pick the correct version. The WHS download is the same as the standard Windows download with the addition of the WHS addin.
The other version is not specific to any release of Windows, and supports the following:-
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 2003, Windows 2008 and Windows 2008 R2, Windows Home Server 2011, Windows SBS Essentials 2011. x86 and x64 support for all the specified platforms.
Note the client version is only required if you need to install the client Manager on a remote machine.
